Trash the Dress ~ Desert style

On Sunday, a HUGE group of photographers, models, hairstylists and make-up artists made the LONG trek to Palm Springs for a Trash the Dress session. I was grateful to ride up there with two other sweet photographers, Daisy and Lynn. We all had such a fantastic time! Not only did I leave with some incredible images from the day, but I won a SHOOTSAC!!! I've been wanting a shootsac since they came out. I'm going to WPPI (vegas baby) on Sunday so I get to check out all of the new shootsac covers....so exciting!
I have so many images from the day that I thought I'd break them up into two posts. I'm going to leave my photo shoot with Dominique for later...they turned out so great that I'm going to keep you in suspense. heehee

Here's a SNEAK peek at Dominques photo shoot :)

Getting Personal

Today is my birthday. I have no idea where the time went or when I'm going to actually grow up, but today, I am 37. Wow.
I thought I'd post about my life and take time to reflect on all of the blessings. I am engaged to the most wonderful man in the world. We have been together for over 6 years and we are just as happy now as we were in those first wonderful months of dating (you know that giddy feeling you have when you see that person). Well, I still have that feeling :) So, I thought I'd show you who Ross is....... the first picture is of us seconds after we got engaged. He is not the type of man that buys me flowers......he is the type of man that warms my side of the bed before I get in it.....so thoughtful.......

So back to my blessings: this year is going to be the best year of my life. My business is slowly and steadily growing. I am getting married in July!!! I live in San Diego (the best city on earth), I have the most amazing family and friends who go out of their way to support me. I am also networking with the coolest peers you can find and I'm doing everything in my power to make my dreams come true.
Life is great! I strongly encourage all of you to follow your dreams. Life is too short to do anything else. Make yourself happy, we only get one shot at this time on earth...what are you doing today that makes you happy???
Please visit JeshDeRox's "Remembering" if you need some inspiration.
Thank you for inviting me into your life, if only for a brief moment. Oh and happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me la la la la la la la happy birthday to meeeeeeeeee (my family sings to me EVERY birthday over the phone...its a tradition and I always look forward to it....I love you guys)

Using Photoshop actions for wedding images

So I recently attended a wedding convention, DWF, in Tampa. I went to learn all of the newest trends, products, speakers, etc. What I left with was so much more. I have to say, I am very impressed with the friendliness of other wedding photographers. I have never been to a convention before where everyone seemed like long lost friends. One of the best gadgets that I found was the Totally Rad Actions by the Boutwell's. I used them for these bridal portraits I did recently and I have to say, I just LOVE them. Let me know what you think! Thanks for looking!

Child Portraits in Orlando

I had the opportunity to travel to Orlando this past week and took portraits of two of the cutest kids on earth, Maya and Caleb. Maya is the typical princess with a pink barrett in her hair and Caleb was the typical boy, jumping out of trees, zipping around in a racecar, and both running as fast as they could. I seem to get the best shots of children when they don't know they are being watched. Oh, there are gratuitous pictures of puppies too. Thanks Monique and Joe for involving me in the day. Enjoy, I did!

Bridal portraits for FUN!

Just in case any of you out there were wondering if I liked my job, I actually do it for fun too! These images were taken today of my neighbor, Melissa. Who knew that I lived next to a natural born model?? I thought these images turned out really well. Thanks Melissa for being such a great sport by playing in the leaves and riding a bike in THAT dress! It was a lot of fun.
